Yesterday I gave an 8 year old boy a dollar. What he did next gave way to a perspective in which I haven’t considered in quite awhile; He smiled and asked me, “Can I bury this money?” And the funny thing is, I actually thought about it for a second, I actually contemplated the true worth of that dollar, which is none. Who buries their money? The answer: someone who has no concept of it. Money didn’t mean anything to him, he was free and had no worries. He was a child who instinctively assumed that this piece of paper was of no help to him. And guess what? He has a better idea of what reality is than most brainwashed adults do who are slaving away at jobs they can’t stand for such a miniscule amount of money, it barely makes it worth it. I told him to do it. I was trying to bring myself back into the mindset of where he was at, at only 8 years old, when the only thing that existed was time to play and enjoy life, to come up with scenarious that may seem ridiculous and bring them to life through the power of imagination. So, what would happen if we all buried our money? What if we all just stopped at once? The massive corporations who run this entire country would be no more, instantly. I don’t think that people would flip shit and go crazy without this “order” we live under, I believe the opposite would ensue. People would work together and begin to collaborate in little communities, we would take the skills that we ourselves enjoy doing and piece them together. The jobs that exist now would still exist because even without money, people will always be passionate about something, whether it be in terms of cooking, playing a musical instrument, building something, or even physical labor, everyone enjoys something and is good at it. We were conditioned since childhood when we first found ourselves in a structured environment with a fucked up economy and they handed us a game of monopoly. When did these “adults” lose their concept of childlike ideas and imagination? A bunch of kids can learn to share one toy so that everyone is feeling okay and getting a fair chance, but a bunch of adults will slobber over the dollar and billionaires, which make up only one tenth of 1 percent, own more money than all of the American people combined and they still haven’t learned to share their wealth for the betterment of society. All my life I’ve been afraid of power, but that is no more. My point, take the advice of a child and understand that life was meant to be lived free.
